Welcome: This is a feline based roleplay; however, unlike the Warriors, which everyone feels the need to use as an outline for any cat roleplay, it is set in the city. Felines, as you know, are independant for the most part, working only in groups when it is required for survival- in this case we will be allowing small groups, because without interaction between cats, the roleplay would go no where. There are no clans, packs or large groups here, only small gangs of cats. The plot will develope throughout the roleplay, otherwise people jump right in and they can get ahead of themselves, causing a premature end to the roleplay.

I have a few specific rules, one of which includes no purebreds (unless you are playing a house cat, of which there will be only a limited number). And not all house cats HAVE to be purebred. Your cat might look like a purebred, but unless it was raised by someone who shows or breeds cats (in which case I highly doubt it would be allowed outside), then it is not going to be a purebred Abyssinian, Bombay or High and Mighty Cat of Gods Across Seas. I'm fine if you don't know what breed your cat is.

This site is intended for literate roleplayers, and people who do not insist on finding a resemblance to a Warriors character in every cat they meet. No Brighthearts, no Eagleeyes- come on, guys. Seperate yourself from the stereotype. If you were eating out of garbage cans, would you want people calling you Fluffybuns? No. You'd be Scrap, Claw or something equally tough or creative. Unless you're a house cat. Then Fluffybuns is okay. But I still think you'd prefer something else.

The meeting place for the cats, where they can meet without fights (OMG WARRIORS) is the junkyard. Unlike Warriors, however, StarClan doesn't dictate when our meetings end. Actually, if someone starts a fight, that's more reason to stick around. FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT! Fights will be decided by dice, so there is no powerplaying or godmoding (Yaaaaay. Everyone clap.) and it is completely fair- unless you're totally lucky. Then you're banned from fighting. Fights can occur anywhere, but most cats like to choose a specific location rather then fight where they met.

Time is measured in seasons (not moons. >.<) since your cats clearly didn't steal a calendar and teach itself to read. Some cats can, usually the older and more educated cats (those who were former house cats), or cats to whom it comes naturally, or can find a teacher. The cats aren't caveman-primitive or other-world-advanced, either. They're at an average intelligence (you're right, this does mean they can't take over the world. Just the way we like it). They recognize days and nights, the sun (Soleil) and moon (Luna).

Do remember that while you're wandering the city, not everyone wants to be your friend and you shouldn't want to be everyone else's friend, either. And you aren't perfect. You aren't the cat who wanders around and nurses the old and sick back to health. You are not a medic or goddess or whatever. Let it go. The house cats are all high-bred, and are probably a little bit snobby. No, you can't be a gorgeous persian who doesn't think she's better than anyone. Get some faults, dabbit. The alley cats are probably rough-and-tumble tough guys; they'd rather have you as a punching bag than a friend. Of course, some are going to be okay (not all of them want to eat you) but they aren't going to be fast-friends, love-at-first-sight.

And lets not be the modern Firestar, 'kay? We didn't all run from our homes out into the street because the tar and dead, rotting fish smells were calling us. Some of us like our nice homes and comfy beds. We don't want to be beaten to death in the street. And not every alley cat wants to be taken home and cuddled by a nice human with some food and some warm beds. You know what? They probably don't like humans. Most of the humans they interact with probably threw something at them. Life sucks for the noisy alley cat, as far as humans go.

Some cats will have had positive interaction with other animals, such as dogs (particularly house cats with other pets in the home)- but when they try and make friends with the alley Rottweiler, things could end badly. Be sensible, please. An alley cat definition of the dog (Rottweiler, German Shepherd, Bulldog) would be different from the house cat definition of a dog (Yorkshire Terrier, Miniature Poodle, Pomeranian).

Also remember while digging through trash cans don't eat things that aren't food, and cats won't just find fish bones (which they shouldn't eat anyway) and other anonymous bits. Humans throw out lots of things (cheese whiz, tuna cans with stuff still in the bottom. However, that doesn't mean you will find a whole ham in the garbage unless the humans are really stupid. Cats can and will share, especially if you find something big (which isn't likely to happen), but mostly only with members of their own "gang". They won't randomly offer someone a large chunk of their meal.

Cats will have celebrations and recognize Christmas and Easter, etc. when they see it. Particularly the house cats, who would be familiar with that experience (and they gifts their doting owners would have bought). Although they recognize gift giving holidays, house cats do not give gifts, they expect them. And alley neither expect nor give gifts, although they are unusually happy (they'll probably only claw off one of your ears).

Cats have no religion. They worship no group or individual (StarClan)- seriously, when did a cat every worship anything but herself?

WE ARE NOT BRINGING DOWN THE WARRIORS. In fact, we thoroughly enjoy the books. We're just stating our independance from all the other Warriors/Clan roleplays on the web. WE ARE NOT LUMPING TOGETHER ALL CAT ROLEPLAYS. Just most of them. The ones that are different are usually great, but far too many are Warriors-based. This is more real life and less fantasy, when compared with Warriors. It will take place in a town that doesn't exist, of course, but that's simply so that we don't have to conform to any setting-accurate land marks (Eiffel Tower, Statue of Liberty, Big Ben, Leaning Tower of Pizza, etc.). Know that this is how cats view the world; a city. They do not live in New York or Boston or Spruce Grove. They live in a town. Or a city. Or a village. They may recognize the Statue of Liberty as "the big green thing we can't reach", but it's not the Statue of Liberty. It represents nothing to them.
